Tuesday night, Emily and Jef of “The Bachelorette” finally confirmed what fans had been buzzing about for the past two weeks: they’ve broken up. This is heartbreaking news for “Team Jem” fans, and everybody had been truly hoping the two were still working on their relationship. Both Emily Maynard and Jef Holm shared statements with People magazine about their time together and their decision to end their engagement.
Jef Holm says, “I’ve never loved someone so much in my whole life, Emily is the best person and mom I have ever met.” He says he fell in love with Emily, her daughter Ricki and everyone surrounding her, and he says their love was genuine and real. He adds, “it breaks my heart but we have decided to break up.”
Emily Maynard calls the decision to split heartbreaking and difficult, and she says she has no regrets about deciding to go back to do “The Bachelorette.” She notes that they “tried our best because the love between us was so real,” and she says she has respect for Jef and his family. Maynard says that in the end, the two of them were just in different points in their lives and she’s excited for the next chapter she and Ricki will see in their lives.
What do you think of what Emily and Jef have to say? Jef did say, “Who knows what tomorrow will bring,” but both Jef Holm and Emily Maynard said they are moving on to the next chapter in their lives. This certainly isn’t the ending that “The Bachelorette” fans envisioned for Jef and Emily, and they were really hoping to see things last. Many think that one or the other sure seem to have thrown in the towel awfully quickly, as Jef had just moved out to Charlotte last month.
